Tiri View House is an architecturally designed residence on Waiheke Island. The home, as featured on Grand Designs NZ, combines refined architectural detailing with integrated technology to support modern coastal living. Coastal was engaged to deliver the electrical, lighting and technology systems, integrating smart home automation, lighting control and audio-visual solutions to create a highly functional home that remains calm, considered, and easy to use.

The Brief
The client required a complete electrical and automation solution for a high-end new build, with systems designed to support everyday living, entertaining and long-term flexibility.
The home needed intuitive control of lighting, climate, and audiovisual systems, while ensuring that all technology remained discreetly integrated into the architecture. Lighting control was a key element, allowing the home to shift naturally between different uses and moods throughout the day and evening.

Design Response
Coastal developed an integrated electrical and automation approach aligned with the architectural intent of the home. Lutron lighting control was specified to provide reliable, intuitive control across the residence, enabling personalised lighting scenes for living, entertaining and relaxation. Lighting has been carefully considered to enhance both the architecture and interior detailing, highlighting concrete and timber elements. Whilst maintaining a clean and uncluttered aesthetic. Audio-visual systems were also integrated to deliver a seamless entertainment experience throughout the home.
Architectural Electrical
Coastal delivered the full electrical installation for Tiri View House, coordinating power, lighting, automation and technology services throughout the build. The electrical infrastructure supports the home’s smart systems, including Lutron lighting control, climate integration and distributed audio-visual systems. Careful planning ensured that switching, outlets and control interfaces remain discreet, supporting intuitive use while preserving the architectural integrity of the spaces. And additional features such as the swimming pool, spa, vehicle hoist and vehicle turning circle.
